2012 South Carolina Republican Primary Results

With 100% of precincts reporting, it is safe to make the following assumptions about South Carolina GOP voters.
  • 40.4% have the memory of a goldfish. Either that, or they really don't care about family values. I guess it's ok for Newt Gingrich to commit adultery, as long as it's not with another man.
  • 27.8% are actually ok with Obama...so long as he's white. Seriously, read about Mitt Romney's time as governor of Massachusetts, and ignore everything he's said on the campaign trail over the past 6 months. Remember, actions speak louder than words.
  • 17% would drive a train off a cliff if they found out one of the passengers was an abortion doctor. They're also only okay with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to the extent allowed in the Old Testament.
  • 13% are actually anarchists, but know that Ron Paul is the closest they'll get.
  • 1.1% don't mind wasting their vote as a joke because they want to have Stephen Colbert's baby. Either that, or Herman Cain's supporters don't understand satire.
I can't wait until this crazy train rolls into Florida, especially considering how much trouble they seem to have managing their elections.

The Best Explanation I've Seen for What's Wrong With "Combating Online Piracy"

I thought I'd share this, considering all of the major news outlet are owned by companies that support SOPA/PIPA, and are purposely sharing misinformation and not giving you the full story. This comes complements of gutlessnomor on CNN.com. Pardon the grammatical errors. I'm sure he was more concerned with getting the idea out than appeasing the grammar police. (Emphasis is mine).

Some of you just don't get it, which is understandable since the main stream media is again trying to mislead you. The laws are already in place to protect companies against piracy and the motion picture industry is very effective at using them. The international raid on megaupload is more than proof of that.

As always the government and special interest groups want more control of the content your exposed to. After all, you might start thinking for yourselves. Which a few of you seem to be doing, congratulations. Using SOPA & PIPA the government will be able to control what content you are able to read or download under the guise of piracy or whatever boogie man they want to attach to it. This creates a win win for both the government and the media companies which are part and parcel the same or as Dan Rather put it "The media is the governments lapdog now".

So, we know what the big media corporations get out of this but what does the government gain? Simple, Control, the Internet is to open, it allows people to get ideas outside of the main stream media. Controlling 3 major networks not so difficult but controlling ten thousand is another story. Its like an idea wrapped inside a water balloon if the idea is only allowed to go out through the nozzle it can easily be controlled and manipulated. If that balloon is pricked say ten-thousand times that idea has ten thousand ways to be exposed to the public. So the government wants a computerised means of easily shutting down information or content they don't approve of. Do you really want the government having that kind of control, I don't think so. Don't let them sugar coat it or tell you it will only be used in certain situations. If you get confused when the media or a politician whispers sweet nothings into your ear explaining why SOPA & PIPA are good. Check their lips, if there moving it's a 95% chance your being lied too and that's giving them all the benefit of the doubt they deserve.

P.S. Despite what Big Media and their lackeys in Congress want you to believe, there is already an effective law in place to combat online piracy, the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA). You should read more about it here so you can get an even greater understanding of why SOPA/PIPA will do nothing stop piracy and everything to inhibit your use of the Internet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Millennium_Copyright_Act

Zooey's First Visit With Santa

It went surprisingly well, and we even got a smile out of it. Of course she had to stop and check him out first. You know, make sure everything was on the up and up.
